Ehrwald and Biberwier are superb resorts located in the Zugspitze ski area which offer guaranteed snow and over 207km of pistes. With a diverse range of challenges – a total of 74 blue runs, 55 red runs and 11 black runs, you can be sure that there is something to suit all abilities.
The beautiful Austrian resort of Ehrwald is in a fantastic location just over 1hr NW of Innsbruck, close to the famous Zugspitze Glacier, which borders Bavaria. The Hotel Sonnenburg sits on the Ehrwald slopes and is just 5-10 minutes walk from the centre. Fantastic for all grades of skier with 74 blue, 55 red & 11 black runs.
Skiing in Ehrwald
The Sonnenburg sits on the slopes of the Sonnenlifte ski area close to the centre of Ehrwald. This area is enhanced with the new state-of-the-art six seater chair lift departing from just outside the hotel. This will increase the local ski area to over 30km and connects it directly with the Glacier and a further 20kms of slopes . The imminent arrival of a 3rd lift in the next couple of seasons will connect the other close by ski area of Ehrwalder Alm and therefore offer almost 100Kms from the doorstep of your hotel. The local lift pass will allow you to ski the Wetterstein area only, while an extended lift pass entitles you to use any of the 9 ski areas in the Zugspitze Ski Circuit and Garmisch which totals over 200km of piste. The areas of Lermoos, Biberweir, Ehrwalder Alm and Berwang are all within a 10-15 minute journey of your hotel. All in all a fantastic ski area for all grades of skiers.
Many après-ski possibilities are available for our groups in Ehrwald itself. There is a superb sports complex in Ehrwald which boasts an outdoor iceskating rink, indoor tennis and swimming pool. Local discos can also be found in Ehrwald as can toboganning. Air rifle shooting is a fantastic après ski option, as is a visit to the ski show in Lermoos, where professionals demonstrate spectacular jumps and terrific tricks!

Take a dip in the local indoor swimming pool – the perfect way to relax and have a bit of fun after a day on the slopes.
